Ailish
As the daughter of two professionals heavily involved in the industry, Ailish Cunniffe’s passion for horses started at a young age. This passion was evident in her successful junior career in the hunter, jumper, and equitation rings. From top ribbons at Pony Finals to being named Grand Champion Junior Rider at Junior Hunter Finals in 2012, Ailish made her mark in the hunter ring. She also had a flourishing equitation career, receiving help at the ring from renowned equitation trainers and family friends, John Brennan and Missy Clark at North Run. During that time, Ailish won a Maclay class at Devon, was sixth at Maclay Finals, and seventh at USET Finals. When her junior career came to a close, Ailish chose to continue her education by attending Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. While in college, she balanced school and continued competing as an amateur, focusing more on the jumper ring. During this time, she won two gold medals at the FEI North American Youth Championships, and in 2019, was named the Hermes U25 Overall Winner.
Ailish’s time in college highlighted her tenacious work ethic in school and in the saddle. After graduating from SMU in 2020 with a degree in X, Ailish made the decision to turn professional and started working alongside her parents at Whipstick Farm. In addition to continuing her own riding career, Ailish became heavily involved in training and helping their clients reach their own riding goals in the equitation, hunter and jumper rings. Simultaneously continuing her own riding career, Ailish quickly moved up the ranks and experienced numerous international successes aboard Vivaldi Du Theil. Beginning their partnership in 2021, Ailish and Vivaldi took on the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ series by storm, capturing third place in the 1.50m Welcome, before taking home another podium finish in the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Fort Worth that same week. In 2022 Ailish was honored to make her senior team debut for US Equestrian at the FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ Mexico CSIO5*, before going on to represent the United States again during the Longines FEI World Cup Finals in Omaha, Nebraska in 2023. Ailish continues to compete at the international level, while also helping to run the family business at Whipstick Farm, based in South Salem, New York and Wellington, Florida. In her free time, she enjoys Pilates, hanging out with her golden retriever, Millie, and spending time with friends and family.
Ned
Ned was born and raised amid the equestrian business. He grew up riding with training help from Frank and Bonnie as he climbed the ranks in the junior divisions. With a commitment to the sport he grew up in, Ned had a very succesful junior career. In 2019, Ned helped his Zone 2 Team win the gold at the USEF Prix des States Team Championship at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show. That same year, Ned also took home the individual silver medal at the USEF Junior Jumper Individual Championships. Also on the list of Ned’s achievements is a silver medal with the Zone 2 team at the FEI Jumping North American Junior Championship. Now a rising sophomore at Southern Methodist University, Ned is competing as an amateur.
